Our fellowship is a one-year program that offers 2 positions per year. The fellow is exposed to practice opportunities with planned expansion of palliative medicine and hospice services throughout the network institutions. The program is founded under the AOA accreditation and this year only DO graduates are eligible. The program ACGME’s status is Pre-Accredited. The program cycle is July –July.
The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship provides fellows with the opportunity to participate in a variety of electives that include the medical ICU, radiation oncology, oncology consultation, geriatrics, neurology, cardiology pulmonary medicine, pediatric education, and ethics.
The fellowship has a valued affiliation with Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care providing patient care integration through interdisciplinary team participation, dedicated inpatient units and community palliative and hospice services, and optimizes the number and diversity of fellowship patient encounters. Furthermore, RHPC has coordinated relationships with nursing and social work bereavement and spiritual care professionals. This helps ensure that fellows obtain experience managing patients longitudinally and across settings.
