Resurrection Family Medicine will consider all candidates that show a genuine interest in Family Medicine. This interest should be identifiable in the application submitted. All applications for first year positions are handled through ERAS and positions are offered through the NRMP and the AOA Match.
Your ERAS application should include 3 letters of recommendation, preferably at least one from a Family Physician who is practicing. A personal statement should be included in your packet which should include your reasons for choosing family medicine and the type of program you are looking for. A personal interview is required to be considered for a match position. A photograph should be available by the time of the interview.
Please review our frequently asked questions below.
We are looking forward to reading your application and considering you for a position at Resurrection Family Medicine.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How many letters do I need?
We would like three letters of recommendation. One letter should be from a practicing Family Physician who you have worked with. Letters should be submitted through ERAS.
- What is the deadline for applications?
We prefer that candidates apply as early as possible, but the deadline for all applications is December 15th. Interviews are assigned as applications come in. We only have limited number of interview spots.
- How are interviews granted?
Once your application is complete (except Medical School Performance Evaluation which comes November 1st), it is reviewed by faculty to evaluate its content for a potential match up in our program. This includes evaluation for team work, desire to be a family physician, medical school performance, grades and scores, and demonstrated interest and capacity for outside interests.
- What about the Medical School Performance Evaluation?
Medical School Performance Evaluations are typically released November 1st for Medical School Seniors. Once this is released an application is complete if all other information is present. The Medical School Performance Evaluation is an additional picture of overall performance.
- What about USMLE II?
In all cases it is to your advantage to have your USMLE II complete (both to have it out of the way, as well as, showing your knowledge). If your school requires USMLE II to graduate, it would be highly advantageous to have this passing score back before the Match lists have to be in.
- What if I'm a DO student, do I have to take the USMLE?
No. You need only the COMLEX series reported from your school to us.
- What is your ERAS number?
The ERAS number for the Family Medicine residency program is 1201611102.
- Do you have a graduation cut-off year?
We prefer a graduation date within the past 5 years but preference will be given to those that have graduated within the past 2 years.
- Do you accept International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and/or sponsor H-1 or J-1 visas?
We do accept International Medical Graduates, however, we do not sponsor visas.
