Presence Health

Life is Too Short for Long Recoveries

The highly skilled, board-certified surgeons at Presence Health hospitals have the most advanced robotics at their fingertips, and with it are pushing the boundaries of less invasive surgery. With the revolutionary da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System, even complex and delicate procedures can be performed through tiny incisions—offering a minimally invasive option for major surgery. For patients, robotic surgery means:

  • Smaller incisions and quicker recovery
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Less blood loss and scarring
  • Significantly less pain

Expertly Guided Precision

Designed to expand the surgeon's capabilities, the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System gives our surgeons a magnified 3-D view inside the body and translates their hand movements into precise micro-movements of specialized instruments. While robotic in nature, the da Vinci® System cannot act on its own; surgery is completely performed by specially trained surgeons who guide robotic arms to replicate their own technique with unprecedented accuracy, flexibility and range of motion using miniaturized surgical instrumentation.

Multi-Disciplinary Experts

Driven to extend the benefits of robotic assisted surgery, Presence Health hospitals has developed a multi-disciplinary program that has saved our patients from lengthy recoveries. Our surgeons are highly skilled in a variety of robotic procedures:

Single-Incision Robotic Surgery

For some procedures, robotic technology has completely transformed surgery. Large incisions and significant recovery periods have been replaced with single-incision sites—made through the belly button—that are virtually scarless and significantly minimize pain, lower blood loss and speed recovery.  Robotic-assisted single-site surgery uses a computer in the operating room to allow the surgeon steady, precise control of the surgical instruments that enable access to tiny spaces more easily and with improved visual access. Currently, Presence Health surgeons perform hysterectomies and gallbladder removal using single-incision robotic surgery.
