Turning lives around.

We help people in high-accountability professions recover from addiction. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago’s Lincoln Park area, our campus is urban, yet close to nature. Our staff has the expertise and experience to help you turn your life around.

You're not alone.

The road to recovery is paved with a lot of small manageable steps. Take the first step today. Ask us for help. Call for an assessment. We will work with you to develop a progressive approach to recovery.

Make today count.

We specialize in treating addicted professionals, including physicians, lawyers, dentists, pilots, and many other individuals who work in high-stress environments.

If you're like many of your colleagues battling with addiction, you’re probably reluctant to ask for help. You’re stressed out at work or at home. You’re afraid you’ll lose the profession you love if you say something. We understand.

The Professionals Treatment Program combines intensive and specialized outpatient treatment with an integrated independent living community experience.

Get the treatment you need.

The length and level of care varies according to your treatment needs, but most people begin with 5 sessions of partial hospital treatment, followed by 2-4 weeks of intensive outpatient treatment.

  • Individual assessments – Our comprehensive substance abuse assessments are scheduled appointments with an addiction specialist to determine the level of care that’s right for you. There is no cost for the initial assessment.
  • Multidisciplinary Assessment Program (MAP) – 1–3 day process designed to assess complex behavioral problems, conducted by a multidisciplinary team. This comprehensive evaluation seeks to identify the causes of the concerns, assess for the existence and severity of medical/psychiatric illness and make recommendations for resolution and treatment.
  • Partial Hospitalization (Day) Program (PHP) – 6--8 hour group sessions for 5 days per week. PHP is used at the beginning of a treatment program for those who need the support and structure of a full-day program to stabilize physically and emotionally away from the work or home setting. The program includes several specialized services, including nutrition counseling, fitness, meditation and mindfulness training.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – 3-hour group sessions either during the day 3 to 5 days per week. IOP is designed for those who need to achieve abstinence through a structured treatment program.
  • Continuing Care Groups – Weekly groups designed to help you continue your recovery.

Independent living communities foster therapeutic recovery.

Sober living homes are conveniently located near the Professionals Program and provide a therapeutic living environment that helps facilitate recovery.

Most professionals share the following issues that are addressed in group settings:

  • Denial based on fear for their profession
  • Defensiveness and a need to be in control
  • Image of superiority based on the profession
  • High accountability for management of others
  • Dual diagnosis

Patients who live in the community quickly bond with their peers. They lose their sense of isolation and find it easy to share with others. They model and mirror recovery for each other.

Addiction impacts the whole family.

Family Week is an intensive and interactive program designed to provide opportunities for open communication between family members to begin the healing process. It’s open to family members 14 years and older and includes education, interaction with other family members and multi-family group therapy.

Financial expectations.

Many insurance plans cover outpatient substance abuse treatment for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, and some plans cover low intensity outpatient treatment programs. We’ll help you determine what your plan covers. If necessary, we can set up a self-pay plan tailored to your ability to pay for treatment that is not covered.
