Presence Health

The mission of Faith in Action is to provide spiritual, emotional, and physical assistance to maintain an independent lifestyle for those agedfifty-five and above residing in Vermilion County. This help is provided by trained volunteers from an interfaith coalition of congregations and from the community.

Our free services to seniors include:

  • Transportation in private vehicles
  • Friendly home or phone visits
  • Shopping and errands
  • Home repairs/Lawn care
  • Temporary relief for caregivers
  • Special seasonal projects
  • Garden Share program
  • "Body & Soul" and "Strong for Life" exercise classes
  • Some emergency financial assistance for health and safety needs
  • Wheelchair ramp and EZ step installation
  • Health Education and Preventative Health Screenings

Faith in Action is an outreach program of Presence United Samaritans Medical Center's Foundation and receives a portion of the proceeds from the Festival of Trees, the annual event/fundraiser for the Foundation. Through these funds and donations from members of the community, we are able to provide home repairs, wheelchair ramps, and emergency assistance. Faith in Action serves all of Vermilion County, IL.
