The Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center (PSJMC) Foundation hosted a record setting fundraiser to benefit the renovation of their Emergency Department on Saturday, November 7, at the Hilton Oak Brook Hills Resort. The 22nd Annual Gala–Kicks on 66–was attended more than 570 guests contributing to nearly $300,000 in gross revenue to date. Attendees included local business leaders, residents, friends, PSJMC associates and new Presence Health CEO, Michael Englehart.
The Route 66-themed event featured dinner, dancing and live entertainment including local band Maggie Speaks. The Gala was co-chaired by J.D. and Helen Ross, and Herb and Cristina Martinez. The Founders’ Award, PSJMC’s highest honor, was also presented to Thomas J. Vana and Eric Bass, M.D., for their outstanding contributions to the Medical Center.
“Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center is a staple of Presence Health and Will County,” said Englehart. “It has been a leader in healthcare for the last 100 years, and because of your support it will thrive for another 100 years. Thank you for coming together to support this very important cause.”
The funds raised will support a redesign of the Emergency Department’s entrance to facilitate efficiencies and provide additional privacy. The PSJMC Emergency Department is the only ED in Joliet and represents the fourth busiest in Illinois.
“I would like to thank all of our Gala sponsors, donors and guests for helping us get closer to our goal of $1.5 million,” said Presence Health South Suburban Region President & CEO Kathleen Rhine. “Our Emergency Department plays a vital role in this region and the renovation is going to enhance the convenience, comfort and care for our patients and their families.”
